We had a peaceful cruise from Two Rivers to Polestar Marina near St. Charles. The turn into Dardenne Slough was a critical one or you hit a sandbar. Busiest recreational boating area since the St. Croix.
This was our last day on the “650 mile entrance ramp” to the loop route from Minnesota. Monday we cruise past the mouth of the Illinois River and will be on river we have never cruised before. We passed a red bouy with a green stripe which marks the turn from one river to another. I just realized this bouy will mark the exact point at which we will “cross our wake” after 6000 miles we will come down the Illinois River and turn up river to go home, crossing the spot we started and completing the loop.

We also saw my aunt Evelyn and uncle Dick at their home. Even Jim and Julie’s daughter Sam and family were able to join for dinner. I had a new sink part and galaxy tablet (for navigation) shipped to their home from Amazon.

Ron, even the kitchen sink…lol. I don’t know if it was that kind of sink…but good tag line and none other…Amazon

Reimanns this is Justin Pearson. I’m so excited that my Mom passed along your Looper info. The great loop is on my bucket list and I’m so excited for you getting to do it. I’ll be sure to keep track or your progress. Funny thing… your gps signal puts you right where my friend Jeremy and I got capsized/stranded/rescued when we attempted to canoe from St. Louis to New Orleans back in 95′. It’s 1:18 pm and the next island you will see is the exact spot where we got washed under a parked barge and I made it to that island (Jeremy didn’t) I was later scooped up by a passing barge and we went searching for Jeremy… wow what a time. We made it back safe in the end. God Speed on your adventure!
