Fabulous Fort Pierce

This small town has a big offering. It’s located on the Indian River and has many canals and islands to explore by dinghy. It’s home to the Navy SEAL museum, has a Manatee Museum, although don’t expect to see any Manatees as the power plant that previously attracted them is no more and a downtown with restaurants, breweries, galleries and shops. The riverfront is nicely landscaped with walking paths. They have a rockin’ Farmers Market on Saturdays with live music at 8 a.m. and yes, people were dancing to the music. We met up with Ron’s good friend from high school and his family. Brad was with us and he spotted an amazing ‘shooting star’ and got it on video.

Flying Colors at night in Fort Pierce.
Friday night Brad captured this video of an unusual “shooting star”. We check the launches at Kennedy and found out that this was an actual launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 that lifted off at Cape Canaveral carrying internet satellites.
Took our Dinghy to this little sandy island by the inlet of Fort Pierce. Felt like our own private beach.
Thanks to our wonderful Harbor Hosts, Steve and Kim, who shared many laughs and meals with us, loaned us their car and allowed us use of their laundry. We sure do appreciate you two.
