Our weather window for cruising on the Atlantic continued to be good so we headed out in the early morning, we find that the wind and waves often pick up in the afternoon that’s why we generally get an early start if the tides allow for it. We knew that there would be 1-2 foot seas hitting us on our beam, which is doable, but doable always doesn’t mean comfortable. When you get 1-2 footers hitting the boat on the beam, you get a lot of rocking and rolling and it’s time to get the Dramamine out. Capt. Ron decided to take her up “on plane” going 22 mph which helped to stabilize the boat and we got into Atlantic City by noon, giving us the afternoon to explore with our first class passengers Jeff and Julie LaCroix.
Atlantic City probably won’t go down on the favorites list but we made our own fun anyway. We stayed at Farley’s Golden Nugget Marina which was a hotel/resort casino and it left a little to be desired. We found an interesting vessel docked there, as well as many other Loopers who were making their way to NYC.
We took an Uber to the Boardwalk, just so we could say that we saw it; however, probably don’t need to go there again. Went for dinner and the new Top Gun movie, and believe it or not, none of us gambled, which was a first.

We walked the entire Atlantic City Boardwalk, even though there are golf cart shuttles and wicker buggies (both pictured) that run up and down and will take you to where you want to go. We went to the IMAX theatre at the Tropicana to see the Top Gun Maverick movie on the big screen and thought it was a great sequel to Top Gun. Cruise has still got “it”.Sometimes it’s nice to pick a restaurant you are familiar with, always fun at the Hard Rock with all the Rock and Roll history and paraphernalia, great food, and great company.Atlantic City Convention Hall, known as Boardwalk Hall, home to the Miss America Pageant started and was a marketing event designed to bring business to Boardwalk.
