We anchored a second night in a known spot under the highway 57 bridge with three other loopers. It was not pretty but it did the job. A storm rolled through at 3:45 am I was up to keep watch and Nancy slept. I love that she can do that.
We entered the Ohio River and now for the first time we are against a 3 mph current. We arrived at the most solid but structurally over-engineered dock I have ever seen in Paducah, Kentucky. In a blinding rainstorm. But this dock was like the antithesis of Hoppies, built with a government grant.

We had docktales with our looper friends and another fabulous dinner with our Minnesota friends Mike and Chris. Next up is the Cumberland river.

We are taking a planned break after cruising 900 miles. Staying here a week and heading to Nashville by car today for two nights at a downtown Sheraton for our anniversary.

I see the little boat with the bikes on the front is still with you!

I love receiving your newsletter! I’d like to see more of a bird’s eye view of the route and the progress you are making each time because I have a hard time picturing in my mind just where you are. You know, like on a transcontinental flight you can follow the plane? What you’ve already done, straight line, what is still ahead, dotted line to the destination. Can you come up with something like that, Ron?
